A couple felt blocked on every side. Despite their efforts, the spiritual warfare seemed to intensify. Their prayers appeared powerless. Uncertainty, insecurity, and heaviness grew until a scripture, Zacharias 4:6, came to them, “’Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts.” They immediately ceased doubting, prayed in the spirit and stood on the Word of God they had received by faith. They saw the Spirit of God move as they rested in Him.

The Lord doesn’t have the same answer for every situation. The Holy Spirit uses the Word of God to guide us in spiritual warfare and in our personal lives. Besides scriptures, He gives us a word that aligns with God’s will for us to stand on, not only for ourselves, but for those around us.

As we pray in the spirit and read the Bible, our spiritual hearing sharpens. We keep track of the words of life the precious Holy Spirit reveals to us. The word of God is the sword of the Spirit, part of the armor of God, and it breaks through any obstacle and empowers us, from glory to glory!

Ephesians 6:17-18 “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.”
