But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you.- Rom. 8:9

It may be difficult to believe that the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in us when our flesh reacts to the circumstances we face. We may battle thoughts of guilt and condemnation, question the reality of His power, and feel hopeless and discouraged. Even when we feel unworthy of His presence, we realize He remains and will never leave us.

When we are confident of His indwelling, it helps us stand and trust our breakthroughs will manifest. The Spirit of Christ within us rises and overcomes our human frailty. Our faith works, and when we are our weakest, His power increases in amazing ways. He breaks forth despite us, enables us to break through and touches those around us so they, too, encounter the reality of the risen Lord.

When our flesh gets in the way, let’s remember it is not the flesh that defines us, but the Spirit, because the Spirit of God dwells in us. We walk in the Spirit as vessels surrendered to His indwelling. There is power in walking in who we are in Christ, by faith, shaking the dust off our feet and rejoicing and praising God for His indwelling power, from glory to glory!
