When we go through trying times, we stand firm in the faith as we run to the Lord through our worship and prayer. Even when all we can do is call upon His name, it helps us disengage from what is trying to bring us down.
Jesus is the vine; we are the branches. We are to abide, remain in Him, by faith. A branch alone cannot carry life. It draws life from the vine. Through our communion with the Lord, we are able to bear more fruit and glorify Him. As we abide in Him, His life flows through us. We can rest in His peace amid any situation. It empowers us to respond in the spirit, instead of reacting in the flesh.
Even when we realize our behavior falls short, we can approach the Lord and go to His throne of grace. Humbly, we admit and confess our faults and request His touch. We accept His forgiveness, forgive others and ourselves, even God. No other branches can disconnect us. When we feel depleted and wearied, let’s hang in there, in the vine, and let His life flow in and through us, with thanksgiving, from glory to glory!
John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”
