Abiding
Contentment in the Lord is the key to fruitfulness. As we abide in Him, we cease to desire for this or that, and we hunger and thirst for more of Him. Complaining about things moves us away from our abiding place and is saying the Lord is not enough. Our desire for Him makes way for His abundance in every area of our lives.
The enemy uses afflictions to provoke us to grumble and not remain steadfast in Christ. He attempts to get us to focus on our insecurity, insignificance and insufficiency. Seeing how less than we are draws us away from resting in the more we have in the Lord. The Lord does the opposite. He shows us how great He is in us and uses our hardships to reveal His glory. Deep calls unto deep!
It is through our brokenness that we thirst after the presence of the Lord the most. Though our battles, we long for His touch. Through our troubles, we yearn for Him with more passion and fervor. We find ourselves longing for the outpouring of God’s Spirit in all situations. We praise Him, believing He is the only one who can quench our thirst, from glory to glory!
Psalms 42:7 “Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; All Your waves and billows have gone over me.”
