Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. – Ps. 37:4-5
When God leads us to something new, He often lessens our drive and lifts the anointing on what we are doing, signaling we are coming into a new season. At times, we might continue our current assignment, thinking the issue lies within us. But as we seek God’s guidance, we realize it is His way of ushering us into a fresh chapter.
God may show us what He has for us right away, or He may show us after we take a step of faith and stop taking part in our current assignment. When we find it difficult to continue doing what we are doing and it becomes a heavy burden, we must pray and pursue discernment on what is happening. Seasons of discouragement happen, and trials trouble our inner peace. Spiritual warfare can also disturb the delight we should feel walking in the ways of the Lord. The Lord orders our steps and our stops.
As we delight ourselves in the Lord, He stirs new desires in our heart and leads us by His peace. Whatever these may be, let’s heed to His directions, obey by faith, and commit our way to Him, trusting He will bring them to pass, from glory to glory!
