Beyond Our Reach

Beyond Our Reach

Since we walk by faith, not by sight, our reach is for the unseen. Not knowing what is on the other side of the obstacles we face challenges our pursuit of what God has for us. It is like walking with a blindfold. Only by trusting that God has laid a hold of us can we trust Him. He holds us with a firm grip even when we lose ours. By His grace, we can press on!

He has made every crooked place straight so we can press through the battles. He bore our sicknesses on the cross, so we can press through the pain. We can press through the fears because He gave us a spirit of love, power, and a sound mind. We can reach for what He has planned for us by pressing through all outside pressures.

The pressure of His leading on the inside is greater than any outside pressure. We can press through because of what He has already done for us in our past and in our future. The Holy Spirit empowers us to go another mile. With this second wind, we reach beyond our reach for all that comes from Him, from glory to glory!

Philippians 3:12 “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.”

Pressing Through

Pressing Through

We lay hold of what Christ Jesus has laid hold of for us. The challenge we face is our uncertainty of what that is. Not knowing the exact purpose doesn’t matter as much as knowing that God has one for everyone. Each purpose connects to another. We look at one thing while God looks at everything. We need to press on by faith to reach for what is beyond our reach.

It’s easier to press through obstacles when we know what is on the other side, but then we would walk by sight instead of by faith. If we knew, it would clarify the purpose for our pressing ahead, and strengthen us not to give up; but that would depend on our knowledge, not God. The Lord increases our faith in what we do not see so we can press through what we see. We trust that what we are pressing through for will be exceptional because it’s from God.

Recognizing that we have not reached our destination, and are in a continued transformation process, enables us to press on to the unknown God has for us. We can trust Father God has the best for us. The unknown becomes known and His purpose unfolds, from glory to glory!

Philippians 3:12 “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.”
