Don’t Go There!

Don’t Go There!

Taking no thought for tomorrow is easier said than done. Thoughts of maybes and what-ifs bombard us. Suppositions of what might or might not happen. Trying to guess the future that only God knows. A part of us might feel that if we prepare for the worst, it will not traumatize us when it comes. Thinking of how things can go wrong somehow makes us feel we will be more prepared for them.

In faith, in obedience to this scripture, we leave our future in God’s hands. No matter what we think it will be, we cannot know what will unfold for sure. God knows, and that should be enough to give us peace to stay hopeful in Him. His plans are glorious! Jesus also says for us not to say, we will do this or that tomorrow, but to say, as the Lord wills, we will do this or that.

Setting goals to fulfill our desires is wisdom. What the Lord refers to here is worrying about the outcome, expecting the worst instead of the best. Over thinking to the point of restlessness. We have enough to consider today. Let’s leave tomorrow for tomorrow, from glory to glory

Matthew 6:33-34 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”
