Crossroads
In the same hospital, some are passing away while others are birthing babies. In an airport, some are weeping seeing their loved ones leave while others are celebrating their loved ones coming home. At every crossroads, we can look for the intervention of the Lord. He causes U-turns, taking us in the opposite direction. He turns our despair into hope. Hallelujah!
When Jesus arrived at the gates of Nain with his disciples, a large crowd was recounting and rejoicing for the healings and miracles they had just witnessed. At this gate, they passed another group going the opposite direction. A widow was leaving the city, mourning for her son as his coffin was being carried out. It was a crossroad where compassion met sorrow and life met death.
Jesus breaks through, touches, and heals us. Even when we cannot call upon His name amid our tears, He hears what we cannot say, feels our pain, and moves with compassion. He is our healer and helps us rise out of our conditions. When we cross the paths of others, let us also take heed of them and be sensitive to their cry. We can bring consolation, hope and healing in the name of Jesus, from glory to glory!
Luke 7:13-14 “When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, ‘Do not weep.’ Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, ‘Young man, I say to you, arise.’”
