Stir up the Gift

Stir up the Gift

One of the many ways to stir up the gift of the Spirit of Christ is with our mouth. To stir up means to kindle up, inflame one’s mind, strength, and zeal. We need to stay fired up for the Kingdom! The tongue is a little member that can spread a big fire quickly of blessing or cursing, of life or death.

We shouldn’t bless God and curse men with the same mouth. Our tongue can bring either direction or destruction. As we surrender and submit our mouth to the Lord, we can tame our tongue so that it’s not full of poison. Being quicker to hear than to speak helps us yield to the Lord. Diligently stirring up the gift of God, which is in us, keeps the fire of God burning in our hearts.

Let’s bless our God and others with words of life; praise His holy name and confess Jesus is Lord! The Spirit of God overcomes the spirit of fear that tries to hinder us from moving forward in our divine identity and purpose. As we pray in the spirit, worship, and witness, we stir up the gift of God that is in us, from glory to glory!

James 3:8-10 “But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.”
