Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.- Heb. 4:16 nkjv.
When we fail, we try to hide from God instead of going to Him to get the mercy and grace we need. Our adversary wants us to dwell in defeat. Jesus is our great High Priest, and He is always compassionate and faithful. He understands everything we go through. Even when no one else “gets us”, God does.
He not only sympathizes with our hardships but also aids us in carrying the burdens we bring to Him. We approach Him not just thinking we might find grace and mercy, but believing we will. He is the way, the truth, and the life. We come to Him with hope and humility, receiving not what we deserve, but what we don’t deserve. Unmerited favor in our time of need. It is truly a wonder to experience His grace and mercy when we feel we are not worthy of facing Him .
The Word of God is alive, active, and sharper than any two-edged sword. He pierces and reveals, with love, what we need to deal with, by His grace. It’s not our inadequacy, but God’s sufficiency that allows us to come to Him. He knows; He understands; He cares, and He loves. We believe. We receive. We come boldly to the throne of grace, from glory to glory!
