Feed the Seed

Feed the Seed

The war between the flesh and the spirit can be challenging. The key to conquering the flesh is to walk in the spirit. To do so, we must feed ourselves spiritually through reading the Bible, praying, and worshiping. We feed the incorruptible seed of the Word of God that was planted in our spirit when we were born again. As our spirit man is nourished, we walk in the Spirit and do not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

When we try in our own ability to come against the lusts of the flesh, defeat often occurs. It is impossible to overcome the flesh in the flesh. The flesh is weak without the enablement of the Spirit of God. Apart from Christ, we can do nothing. We feed the seed to meet the most important need we all have: Jesus.

Our focus is on the Lord. He is the bread of life. Daily we pray for our daily bread so we can grow and strengthen in our spirit. When we feel weak in any area, when warfare is intensifying, when peace and joy seem to decrease, we press in to feed ourselves spiritually. We grow in grace, in love, in Christ, from faith to faith, from glory to glory!

Galatians 5:16 “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”

Spiritual Check Points

Spiritual Check Points

To guard against self-deception, the Lord leads us through check points. Things to check on as we pursue purposes, relationships and seek God’s best for our lives. We must guard against busyness, distractions and subtle interferences that might try to stop us from taking the time to do so.

A check mark is a red flag. The Holy Spirit doesn’t just lead us by His peace and promptings, but also by red flags. When we sense that something is not right, not flowing; when we are hesitant without knowing why; when the lack of peace keeps stirring in our hearts and minds. We do not ignore these red flags, but value and process them through prayer. It doesn’t necessarily mean a no, but can show something to check on further.

We check our hearts by humbly submitting our will to His; desiring His plans more than our own. At His feet, we seek the removal of any flesh that could tint our motivation, our mission or our methods. We check our hearing, willing to hear what He has to say and go to the Word of God for instructions and confirmations. Above all, we pray for Him to fill us with His Spirit, from glory to glory!
