Does it Fit?

Does it Fit?

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10 KJV).

The Greek word for “hath before ordained” in this scripture is proetoimazō, meaning “to fit up in advance.” God has prepared specific works for us to walk in. They will fit who we are in Him perfectly and line up with his best for our lives. There is both excitement and restlessness in realizing the Lord stretches us to fit the places we are about to occupy.

We can relate to what it feels like to break into new shoes. At first, they’re not comfortable and we get sore spots. It takes time to get used to walking in them, and during that period, we might miss the old shoes and consider using them again. When that period is over, the new shoes fit perfectly, like they were tailor made for us. As God’s workmanship, we can trust what He sees fit.

If you are in a transition, focus on the new by faith, relying on God to bring it to pass. Spend time in His Word and worship, resting in Him. Be quick to let go of what no longer fits or to adjust to new ways to fit into it. Praise God ahead of time for what He has for you. God often must shift situations and relationships to help us step into the new. Let’s see the process as a glorious transformation,  from glory to glory!

Look!

Look!

As we look up to our Lord, He helps us look in three directions, taking us to a place of trust and hope in Him. We look back, remember what God has already helped us through, and how He moved in our lives in greater ways than expected. We see how we have grown in the Lord and the freedom He brought in various areas of our lives.

We look within. The spirit of Christ can bring light to areas that need healing. We humbly face ourselves, confront ourselves in order to conquer, and walk in freedom. He helps us examine what doesn’t match our divine identity. We increase in the knowledge of who we are in Christ, and who Christ is in us: the hope of glory.

We look forward. What God has prepared for us is so much greater than what we could ask or think! We are being renewed inwardly day-by-day and rejoice in the glory that will manifest in our future. Our paths are shining brighter and brighter. Tempted to look down and feel hopeless, we look up, from glory to glory!

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
