When the Heat is on

When the Heat is on

How do we handle the fires of adversity in our lives? Do we look at what caused the fire? Look at the fire itself; look at ourselves in the fire; or look at the Lord who is with us in the fire? The more we look at the cause, the fire, or ourselves, the more we will feel defeated and fearful. The more we focus on the presence of the Lord, the more we will feel victorious and stand in great faith.

When we magnify the Lord, we minimize giants. The noises of the fire can cause us to pay attention to its devastating path. Our adversary knows the Lord is with us, but he tries to get us to doubt it by distracting us with ever-increasing fiery darts. God’s voice calls us to draw nigh and focus on Him through prayer and worship.

We can serve the Lord and stand against all pressure to bow down to the enemy’s ways because we belong to our God. He has delivered us from the hands of the enemy. When all we see is the Lord, we can walk through the fire with His peace guarding our hearts and mind. We trust that His ways and thoughts are higher than ours, from glory to glory!

Daniel 3:16-17 “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, ‘O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king.’”
