Abounding in Thanksgiving
We received our Lord Christ Jesus by faith, and walk with Him the same way, by faith. In Him we are rooted, built up and established in the faith, in abundance and with thanksgiving. We are thankful because faith receives what He has done. What comes from God causes our thanksgiving to excel and our love for Him to abound.
Faith lays hold of the promises of God with such surety that we are thankful before we see them in the natural. We cannot perfect in the flesh what we have begun in the spirit, by faith. The same way we began our walk of faith, we continue, not adding anything that pertains to our own ability.
A walk implies a step-by-step movement. God cannot guide a parked car. In Christ, we move and have our being; and in Him, we have His life in abundance. He is the author and finisher of our faith and gives us what we need with each step we take. It’s as though we have a blindfold covering our eyes and we put our hand in His hand, trusting Him completely. We do not wonder where He is taking us because as long as He is with us: we walk in our Promise Land, from glory to glory!
Colossians 2:6-7 “As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.”
