The Best Side

The Best Side

When someone comes to us to share their dispute with someone else, he or she desires us to take his or her side. It can challenge us because we don’t know the entire story. There are three sides to every story: each party and the Lords. We want to be on the Lord’s side, pursuing resolution and reconciliation.

We can care, understand and be compassionate without taking sides. We pray with that person, acknowledging the Lord, seeking His wisdom and peace. It helps release anger and hurt; and receive the Lord’s healing, forgiveness and peace. When we walk in love, the gossip meetings we encounter, by God’s grace, turn into prayer meetings. Love conquers all.

Being on the Lord’s side doesn’t mean we know everything about a situation. It means we trust what He knows. God calls us to be ministers of reconciliation and we represent His side to others. His love. His care. His grace. Where the enemy wants to bring division, we bring unity and peace, in the name of Jesus, from glory to glory

2 Corinthians 5:18-19 “Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.”
