It is often after doors are closed that God shows us what He has prepared for us. It was only after Abraham was separated from Lot, (and that door was closed), that God showed Abraham the land he was going to possess. The Spirit of God leads us to find closure to some things that have happened in our past so we can walk in His new opened doors.
Even though past events may have happened long ago, some of their destructive consequences might still be hindering us today. The past has the potential to hinder our future, so closure needs to be applied. Every if, and if only, must be left behind so that we are not. Closure comes as we walk in the newness of life we have in Christ.
Even when we do not understand why God closes doors, we trust Him and expect new divine opportunities. Our past no longer has the power to affect our present. If we live our past repeatedly, we remain locked in our past. God shines the light in those areas so we can let them go and move forward, from glory to glory!
2 Corinthians 5:16-17 “Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
