Restored Fellowship
The moment he yielded to the temptation to drink too much whisky; he sensed his fellowship with the Lord break. When he sobered up, he yielded to the conviction of the Holy Spirit, repented, and wept in gratitude for the Lord’s forgiveness. Eventually he could say no to the temptation and walk free because of the enabling presence and power of God.
When a parent tells his son to go to his room because he did something he shouldn’t have, it breaks their fellowship, not their relationship. The child is still home. When he returns to fellowship, he finds his dad cooking his favorite meal while they were apart. Our loving Heavenly Father never ceases to amaze us!
As believers, it is when we believe and trust in our personal relationship with Jesus, that we can reach for His forgiveness, love, and restoration of fellowship. The key to living the abundant life we have in the Lord, is through our fellowship with Him. Communion with Him enables us to walk in freedom, from glory to glory!
2 Corinthians 13:14 “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.”
