Is it God?
Because we have the Spirit of God dwelling in us, we can test the spirits that we encounter. It’s not only what comes through others that we are to test but also what comes into our own mind. To test the spirits, we ask, “Is that you, Lord,” and wait for the answer. With the Spirit of God comes perfect peace, joy, and security.
As we test a thought, we take it captive for examination or rebuke, in the name of Jesus. Because there may be many thoughts to consider, we must intensify our pressing through to get to a breakthrough. The most challenging is what is not obvious because it appears to be great, but is not God’s best.
The key is in our heart of obedience. We desire and will obey God so we may walk in His perfect will. As we daily submit all to the Lord and trust the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth, we take every thought captive and discover some battles we had in our minds no longer exist. We move forward, from glory to glory!
1 John 4:1 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”
