God’s Property

God’s Property

Knowing in our hearts we belong to God changes the choices we make regarding what belongs to us. It enables us to become better stewards of what God has entrusted to us. We don’t take His blessings for granted but treasure them. This understanding strengthens our boundaries and helps us rest assured of our security in Christ.

What belongs to us must verify that we belong to the Lord. We are not our own; Jesus shed His blood on the cross for our redemption. Our bodies, talents, gifts, finances, and all we are and have is His. The Holy Spirit in us enables us to care for what is, above all, His, not ours, by reaffirming how precious we are in God’s eyes.

We are precious to God! He knows how to care for what belongs to Him, and He watches over us with love protecting us with His power. We must keep what He paid such a price for, with surety and watchfulness. We are God’s property and we can evict every intruder in Jesus’ name! We are not blind, we can see; not alone or abandoned. We belong to God, and this belonging takes us, from glory to glory

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

Temple Maintenance

Our bodies are like precious instruments God has placed in our care. If someone gave us a million dollars, or any other great treasure to watch over, we would handle it with care and it would change the way we do many things. We need to watch over our bodies with even greater care. As we consecrate ourselves to God, we glorify Him!

A surgeon makes sure the scalpel he uses is sanitized and prepared for surgery. Likewise, the sanctification of the Holy Spirit prepares our bodies to be fit for the master’s use. Knowing we belong to Him, and are not our own, helps us yield to Him so the Holy Spirit is not quenched and flows freely.

We yield to the owner and make the right choices regarding what goes in, out, or close to our bodies. Daily we walk in new mercies and receive cleansing from the top of our heads to the soles of our feet. We are glory carriers! We have a treasure in us that is priceless. Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, and we must care for them, from glory to glory!
