To guard against self-deception, the Lord leads us through check points. Things to check on as we pursue purposes, relationships and seek God’s best for our lives. We must guard against busyness, distractions and subtle interferences that might try to stop us from taking the time to do so.
A check mark is a red flag. The Holy Spirit doesn’t just lead us by His peace and promptings, but also by red flags. When we sense that something is not right, not flowing; when we are hesitant without knowing why; when the lack of peace keeps stirring in our hearts and minds. We do not ignore these red flags, but value and process them through prayer. It doesn’t necessarily mean a no, but can show something to check on further.
We check our hearts by humbly submitting our will to His; desiring His plans more than our own. At His feet, we seek the removal of any flesh that could tint our motivation, our mission or our methods. We check our hearing, willing to hear what He has to say and go to the Word of God for instructions and confirmations. Above all, we pray for Him to fill us with His Spirit, from glory to glory!
Galatians 5:16 “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”
