When our adversary, satan, tempts us to question God’s Word, the Lord sharpens our Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God. His conniving ways are the same he used on Eve to deceive her to partake of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Satan’s attack against the Word of God against Eve came in three ways.
First, he planted a seed of doubt, has God indeed said? If he can confuse Eve about what God said, or doubt it, then he is closer to winning the battle. His plan is to get us to either neglect the Word or to doubt it. Second, He twisted what God had said by only mentioning the negative, you shall not eat of every tree of the garden. Eve focused then on what she couldn’t have instead of what she could have. In his third lie he totally contradicted God’s Word; you will not surely die.
We must know the Word of God for ourselves and keep our Sword engaged. We declare, like Jesus when satan tempted him, it is written, and add the Word, the Word, the Word. Hallelujah! We learn to do so by the power of the Holy Spirit, from glory to glory!
Ephesians 6:17 “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”
