A husband comes home late, and his wife accuses him of cheating; her insecurity and jealousy attempt to stir up a heated argument. The husband yields to the Spirit of God and calmly reaches out to her with love, calms her fears and speaks life over her, in Jesus’ name. The enemy’s endeavor is defeated, and our Lord’s glory is reflected.
When the character of Christ comes forth in our behavior, He is glorified in our lives. Oppositions and hindrances to our walk of peace are opportunities for us, and others, to see how much we have been changed into the image of the Lord. In the ways we face confrontations … the work of sanctification of the Holy Spirit can be seen and its increase realized.
We also recognize the areas where we are still in need of transformation. Our focus needs to be on what our Lord has already done, not on what still needs to be accomplished. We can trust Him for what is lacking when we realize the amazing changes He has already brought forth in our character. We can also extend greater grace and mercy to others, from glory to glory!
Romans 13:13-14 “Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.”
