Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. – Phil. 4:6-7 NKJV

We set a firewall on a computer for security. It monitors incoming and outgoing traffic. Its purpose is to form a barrier between the internal network and what comes in from external sources. In doing so, it blocks malicious traffic like viruses and hackers. The peace of God is like a firewall over our hearts and minds. A powerful guard!

It protects us from the intruders of fear, doubt, worry, and condemnation. Its efficiency keeps the thoughts of inadequacy, insecurity, and inferiority at bay. We cannot comprehend how it works. It helps us stand by faith in our trials and expect the intervention of God. It protects our emotions from ruling us and helps us be still and know that He is God!

To establish it, we make our requests known unto God, release them into His hands, and trust Him with the results. With a heart of thanksgiving, we rest knowing we, and all that belong to us, are in expert hands, caring, able, healing hands. We also pray for the Spirit of God to delete all the cookies, the history of our negative thoughts. We discover God’s protection through every threat and abide in His love, from glory to glory
