A new beginning is an opportunity to start over again. It’s entering into a season without the same ingredients that were in existence in the last season. It is a clear path with no obstacles created by wrong choices we made the last time around. It’s being able to try again with assets which were added since the last attempt. In Christ, we can walk in new beginnings daily.

A lack of forgiveness will hinder our walking in a new beginning. When we don’t forgive others, or ourselves, we actually tie ourselves to the past. It’s like being chained to the offense. No matter where we try to go, we cannot move because we are stuck. The same way we receive forgiveness from God, we forgive others: by His grace. To forgive only one action or another brings a needed repetition of what needs to be done at once. We take the whole person and give them to the Lord. We leave them in His caring hands and receive His ability to let go, never to pick up the offense again.

Because of God’s grace, forgiveness and mercy, we can move forward in newness of life at any time. What a blessing! A new beginning, day by day, from glory to glory!

2 Corinthians 2:10-11 Now whom you forgive anything, I also forgive. For if indeed I have forgiven anything, I have forgiven that one for your sakes in the presence of Christ, lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.
