The sharp words of rejection his friend spoke to him, shocked him and left him speechless. They were filled with anger, curses and contempt. He rushed out wondering how this could happen after being so close for fifteen years. Why didn’t he just say no to his request for $200 to help him meet his rent? How could he deal with this pain and heaviness? The answer came through: spiritual help.
Words, like in this case, hurt, especially coming from those close to us. They are like knives thrown into our hearts. Their effects run deep. Then healing of the wound happens, with the help of the Spirit of God, through forgiveness and healing.
Some words we know of; some we do not. We should often condemn every word that comes against us in judgment. We yield to the conviction of the Holy Spirit for any wrongdoing on our part (known and unknown), stand on what the Word says about us, and with it conquer all negative words, in Jesus’ name, from glory to glory!
Isaiah 54:17 “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the LORD.”
