He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.– Psalm 23:3.
Albert and Julie had been dating for six months when insecurities interfered with their peace and joy. When he would express his love to her, she would question it and argue about its reality. She tested him through constant bouts of anger, unfounded jealousy, and distrust. He showered her with love and tried to reassure her of his honesty and of the security she could depend on in their relationship, but to no avail. A few months later, her insecurities drove him away, and she found herself alone… again.
Julie turned to the Lord, was healed and could love without reservation. Everybody deals with insecurity from time to time. When we are insecure, we feel inadequate and lack confidence in ourselves and others. It brings up uncertainty about our objectives and lack of trust in our relationships.
Finding our security in God and growing in confidence in Him, with faith in Him more than faith in ourselves or in what we fear, brings freedom from insecurity. When we focus on who Jesus is, all that hinders us falls away without us even realizing it. We notice the change when we are in a similar situation and find our response has completely changed. God’s healing touch fills our journey with glorious transformation, from glory to glory!
Great post!
