He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you. – John 16:14-15

One way to discern if something is of God is to ask ourselves, does it glorify the Lord? Do we see Jesus in the sayings or behaviors? Would He say or do that? Does it show His character? Does it leaves us encouraged, exhorted, and edified? When we feel oppressed, fearful, and defeated… it is not of God.

We recognize faith vs. fear by detecting flesh vs. Spirit. Anything that comes to elevate anyone is not of God. We must guard against words that tell us we will be famous; we are called to the nations! Personal prophecy will relate to us and will say things about us, but the focus will be about who the Lord is and what He will do in and through us. It’s never about how great we are, but always how great He is.

Does what we are hearing identify with “flesh” or “God?” It is important to identify who is being exalted. The enemy, satan, comes to lift flesh and feed the ego of man. The Holy Spirit always comes to lift Jesus! When the Lord is being glorified, we grow in faith and grace, and we worship Him! More of Him is the fruit we look for in every situation, from glory to glory!
