The Lord is full of compassion. He is slow to anger and great in mercy. As He transforms us into His image, we, too, become merciful. When the Spirit of God leads us to do something, He not only gives us the passion but also the needed compassion. Compassion stirs up healings, miracles, and the manifestation of the glory we read about in the life of Jesus.
When we realize God has fully forgiven us, we love Him passionately. Only the love of God gives us the compassion to go forth with the passion to walk in His name. As we receive the Lord, we walk in Him by grace through faith. We extend grace and mercy to others as we have received it from the Lord. Having compassion keeps us on fire for God!
The compassion we express should not be conditional on the response of others. Like God’s love, it is not based on our expectation being met. We pray for the Holy Spirit to empower us to walk as Jesus walked and glorify Him. He keeps us filled with a fresh fire for the Kingdom and rekindles our passion when needed. As ambassadors of Christ, we represent Him, from glory to glory!
Psalm 145:8-9 “The LORD is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in mercy. The LORD is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works.”
