When we commit our works to the Lord, we roll them off our shoulders and into His hands. We wonderfully visualized this rolling of our works unto God as we picture a camel burdened with a heavy load. To remove the load, the camel kneels, tilts far to one side, and the burden rolls off. Isn’t that what we do in prayer?

In our hearts, we kneel and lean towards God, loving and trusting His care. As we do, we surrender all into His hands. When we have rolled all over unto Him, we can rest in peace. We no longer lean on our own understanding. We patiently wait for His instructions, knowing that He will help us with what we have entrusted to Him. We are more apt to make this commitment with things that are worrisome or troubling, but we must give unto His care what feels right as well. We deliver our all into our Lord’s safekeeping.

God is willing, able, and faithful. He cares for us and desires to lead us into His best. This rolling over is one way we take thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ. When we do, confusion dissipates instantly. Whatever is burdensome becomes light, from glory to glory!

Proverbs 16:3 “Commit your works to the LORD, and your thoughts will be established.”
