God uses brokenness in our lives to bring wholeness. It’s not something we decide to do ourselves. It comes to us unexpectedly: one prayer, one word, one event, one touch! As God restores our souls, He mends the cracks and fissures, transforming us into glorious vessels. By His grace, He breaks down walls we might have built up for self-protection in wounded areas.
In the presence of the Lord, walls we didn’t even know existed come tumbling down. We may not realize something needs to be broken until it is; when it is, we experience new freedom we never knew existed. Walls not only keep others from coming in, but they also keep us from going out. To avoid the pain, we unknowingly create a void that keeps out God’s best for us.
The Holy Spirit breaks the barriers on the inside because of the unalterable spiritual truth that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. When this happens, we weep, not from sadness, but from the awesomeness of the healing God brings into our lives. He picks up all the broken pieces and restores peace. He replaces our brokenness with wholeness, from glory to glory!
Joshua 6:1 “Now Jericho was securely shut up because of the children of Israel; none went out, and none came in.”
