Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.- Phil. 4:6-7
I kept releasing my children to the Lord and taking them back by worrying and questioning their futures. Knowing God loved them more than I did wasn’t enough for me to trust Him with what needed to happen, or not happen, in their lives. With love and patience, the Lord kept leading me to trust His ability and rest in Him.
Regardless of how many times we surrender someone or something to the Lord, we must keep doing it until we are no longer anxious. As we grow in the knowledge of God’s reality and ability, we learn to trust in Him. Our dependency on God increases and our dependency on ourselves lessens. It’s in our continued surrender that we succeed.
Whatever is causing you anxiety today, release it into God’s mighty hands. Trust His love, forgiveness, and care. Share your requests with Him until His peace fills your heart and mind. Receive His provisions for your situation by faith and stand with great expectations. By His grace we do what He leads us to do and leave the rest at His feet, with thanksgiving and a heart of worship, from glory to glory!
