The Word. The Word. Nothing but the Word. I remember the Lord leading me to put together a booklet with all the scriptures about healing. He said, “Do not add your own words to it, just my Word and an ending prayer. It is all powerful.” For whatever we face, we seek the Word and apply it. The more the Holy Spirit enlightens it, the more our faith and ability to stand on it grows.

All powerful. The Word of God is alive and active. It probes us like the scalpel of a surgeon, reaches and cuts away what He must remove with precision. God’s words separate and penetrate our deepest parts, even dividing the soul and the spirit, the joints and marrow. The joints are the thick outer parts of the bone. Marrow is the tender, living inner part of the bone. It accesses the invisible and divides the indivisible. It renews our mind and understands our hearts.

There are two “musts” in our Christian life: for the Word of God to dwell in us richly, and for the Holy Spirit to fill us to overflowing! We seek both and expect transformation as God watches over His Word to perform it, from glory to glory!

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
