For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. Romans 15:4 (NKJV)
This day could not finish soon enough. It had been filled with frustrations. So many little things had gone wrong. He went home heavy and could not get out of the state he was in until he reached for his Bible and read his favorite chapter, Romans 8. Like a mighty wave, the Word of God washed away his heaviness and the Spirit of God renewed his strength.
We can often be unaware of how much something has affected us until much later. Our moods shift. We do not act or speak with others as usual. The busyness of getting involved in our next duty prevents us from examining ourselves as we should. Having regular spiritual checkups helps us discern the dust on our feet and press through with our praise.
The comfort and guidance of the scriptures help us handle and manage the difficulties we come across. When we cannot get to our Bible, the Word we carry arises and empowers us to stand! One word from the Lord can turn a situation around instantly. The Lord equips us, edifies us and keeps us strong in Him, from glory to glory!
