It is our heart’s desire to have greater understanding of one another. We rejoice when others understand us because it brings agreement and strength. We seek to understand others so we can minister to them effectively. The test of misunderstanding is one we all go through at one time or another; and passing through it is not always easy– but surely is possible with God.
Misunderstandings between people who know each other are the most challenging. Because of assumptions based on familiarities from the past, changes the Lord has brought – and is bringing – in people’s lives are not easily discerned. Our natural tendency is to try and persuade others through reasoning and explanations of what can only be understood by the Spirit. We cannot explain in the natural what can only be understood in the Spirit. We need to pray for the Lord to bring His truth, His peace, and His mind to all relationships.
God knows and understands us and helps us understand one another, by the Spirit. The more we comprehend in the Spirit, the more we stand together regardless of circumstances. Even if we don’t have time to talk about something, we know what needs to be known in our heart. We know the person in Christ more than natural actions. Every test is passed by resting in the Lord. We trust in His ability to bring unity by His Spirit and replace any argument with agreement; confusion with peace; and discord with accord. It’s in resting, not struggling or striving that we learn to abide, from glory to glory!
John 6:62-63 “What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before? It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.”
