We are able to call upon others to pray over us and anoint us with oil in the name of the Lord when we are sick or afflicted in any area: physically, emotionally or spiritually. What a privilege!
Even though we have this privilege, we might not exercise it when needed. We may think others will see us as weak in faith, or that we believe the symptoms instead of standing on the Word. Negative experiences from the past could also hinder us from reaching out to others. It’s a sign of great faith to reach out to other members of the Body of Christ. Recognizing symptoms doesn’t mean we receive their potential impact. We believe Jesus is the healer. By His stripes we were healed.
It is our responsibility to humble ourselves and call upon others as we are led by the Lord. When we draw nigh unto God, He draws nigh unto us. His healing touches us in areas where we do not even know we need it as He brings wholeness to our total being. We all need more of Him, from glory to glory!
James 5:14-15 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
