The Blind Side

The Blind Side

The battles we face are with spiritual forces; we do not war against flesh and blood. We might fight with those around us not discerning our real enemy, which is unseen. It is helpful to discern this is happening quickly, so time is not wasted battling the wrong things. God sees what we do not see, and He protects us as we seek Him and continue to surrender all our ways.

Diversity will come with adversity. We don’t always see the enemy because he surprises us in areas where we are not used to warring. We know our weak areas and are accustomed to battling there. Temptations will come in unknown territories. Some things might appear harmless at first and then become strongholds. We should be watching on all sides, especially our blind side. Our enemy doesn’t make his schemes obvious; He is deceitful and often closer than we think. The Lord gives us the faith to face all confrontation.

Attacks will come unexpectedly and from different sources. We should take heed where we stand, lest we fall. When a harmful situation is detected, we humbly and quickly move away from its potential destruction and run to the Lord–reaching out for His grace. God gives grace to the humble but resists the proud. When the invisible is encountered, we find that only Christ is invincible. We war by His grace and power alone, from glory to glory!

Ephesians 6:12 “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

Able

Able

When the Lord guides our steps into anything new, a sense of being inadequate can come upon us attempting to stop us from moving forward. We learn to yield to His ability and not our inability. We experience His power in and through us as we step out in faith in His power.

An opportunity opens up for us to do something God has given us a desire for when suddenly a sense of incompetence comes over us. We hear of an opening for a job position in an area where we have no expertise, but we feel a strong leading to apply even though we feel we are not qualified. A door opens for a new relationship, but we feel insecure in going forward. As the Lord strengthens us in the power of His might, He continues to bring opportunities our way to take us to a place of confidence in Him. It is so we will know that even when we are unable, God is able.

Our heart is willing to do His will and our desire to follow Him overtakes our inability to do so in our own strength. God enables us to obey Him, one step at a time. When we come to the end of ourselves, He begins. When we stop, He starts. God is able and unchangeable. His strength is made perfect in weakness. His power rests upon us, from glory to glory!

2 Corinthians 12:9 “And he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
