Lead us to the Rock!

Lead us to the Rock!

What should we do in the face of tragedy? When evil roars and fear knocks at our doors, should we strike back? How do we stop anger from turning into rage, or guard our hearts from becoming bitter? How do we remain loving and forgiving?

When our hearts are overwhelmed with grief, sorrow and pain, nothing makes sense. Simple tasks in our daily activities challenge our ability to function normally. We find keeping a routine difficult, yet we know it’s imperative that we do so. In those times of desperation, we cry out to God from the depths of our hearts. Without the Lord, we would fall into a tunnel of despair, depression and helplessness. The Spirit of Christ knows how to move upon us to reach out to the rock who is higher than we are, Jesus!

A child in trouble looks to someone bigger to rescue him. We go to the Lord, trusting His ability to intervene and move miraculously. He takes us higher in Him so we can see with His eyes of hope; think with His thoughts of good and not evil; feel His never ending unconditional love; and rest in His merciful plan. He truly is the Rock of our salvation, from glory to glory!

Psalms 61:1-2 “Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”

Unbelievable!

Unbelievable!

When facing a tragic event people go through shock, anger, pain and unbelief.

When something unbelievable happens, what we believe carries us through. We believe the devil comes to kill, steal and destroy; but Jesus came and is here to give us abundant life. We believe that by His grace we can stand in the midst of tragedy. We believe there is no end in Christ; we believe in eternal life. We believe God can dry our tears and calm our fears. We have hope and peace that cannot be explained. Darkness rises, but the glory of God remains and increases.

The Holy Spirit comforts, embraces and restores. Today and always – let’s love, comfort and embrace all those we know. Let’s listen to their pain, fears, questions and hearts. Let’s share with them our hope and trust in our Lord to release His life in all situations. When no words can express what is in a heart, God’s word still speaks. He hears, cares and provides and we abound in hope, from glory to glory!

Romans 15:13 “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
