God is our Heavenly Father through the Spirit of adoption. The word Abba is Papa in Aramaic. Our Papa is a faithful provider, mighty protector and loving parent. There is no need to fear because Papa is near and He always comes to our rescue.
When we ask our Papa something, He doesn’t ignore us but delights in answering us, always. He doesn’t keep us in the dark but takes us out of the dark into His marvelous light. He teaches us how to be more like Him. He reveals who He is, and how He accomplishes His purposes. He is a great mentor. First He demonstrates how something is done; then He lets us do it with Him by our side, ready to catch us when we fall. He gently with love and patience helps us again and again until we succeed. With love and care He takes us to the finish line.
He loves us unconditionally. He desires the best for us. We can go to Him and ask Him anything, and He delights in answering. Whatever needs we have, He provides according to His riches in glory. When we get hurt, He picks us up and comforts and encourages us. As He continually leads us, we learn to trust that we are safe at all times. We rest and have surety in His arms, from glory to glory!
Romans 8:15 “For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, ‘Abba, Father.’ ”
Are we wondering where we should go? What we should do? Are we where God wants us to be? Did we miss Him somehow? If we don’t know we don’t have surety in our steps. Our daily peace and rest is disturbed and our dreams become unattainable.
We have been given the great commission by the Lord to go and make disciples of all nations, teaching and preaching His word of truth. Jesus said He is with us always. This verb “go” means as you are moving or proceeding. The moment we are believers, our “going” is not necessarily to a destination– but we go with God wherever we go, because God goes with us–always. Knowing this truth helps answer all questions pertaining to the where and the what. It’s the who that matters. Since we go with God we don’t worry about the specifics, trusting that with God all things are possible. Even in our missteps, our God will guide us by His grace.
For every decision, big or small, we choose to go with what God prefers because He is with us. In our heart we go with God, our voices and choices must also learn to go with Him. When we have the awareness that He is in us, we know therefore that He is with us at all times. Moment by moment we go with God and trust He is working all things together for our good, from glory to glory!
Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
