Only the deep can call unto deep. As we grow in Christ, the superficial is removed, allowing the Spirit of God to go deep into our hearts to deal with any hindrances to His fruitfulness. In that depth, He increases His presence. His deep calls unto our deep.
What comes to the surface during a trial reveals the depth in which God has transformed us. His touch goes deeper and deeper. When we think He has reached out to the deepest point, we find He has attained a more profound place. No depth can separate us from His love. In our relationships with others, our fellowship is within the depth of our being. When deep is yoked to the superficial, the superficial has to go. Our unity with God, and one another, is deep.
It is through the presence of the living waters of the Spirit of God within us that deep calls unto deep. It is because we are led by this river that we can relate to everything in depth. When we find ourselves down, the deep in us calls forth the deep in God. Then, as God reaches out to us, He releases waves of healing, joy, glory, peace and love. He releases whatever wave is needed to supersede our state. He releases wave, upon wave, upon wave. He covers us with His presence and power, from wave to wave, from glory to glory!
Psalm 42:7 “Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; All Your waves and billows have gone over me.”
