Even though God is all knowing, we make our requests known to Him in order for us to perceive what is in our own heart. It also helps us to pour out our hearts unto God. Whatever we think, feel or experience, we can express it to the Lord.
As we pour out our heart, it gets emptied of the cares that may trouble us. In everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, we let our requests be made known to God; and the peace of God guards our hearts and minds. The only way to be anxious for nothing is to surrender everything to God. We can cast our cares onto Him because He cares for us. He hears our cries; He understands what we are going through and carries us through the storms of life with His peace.
The peace of God protects us from the fiery darts of our adversary and is set like a guard hindering any fear. In God’s care, we remain care free. The Lord has already blessed us so much! Prayer is not a monologue, but a dialogue. It’s not that God needs to hear from us; it’s that we need to hear from Him so we will no longer pay attention to our own thoughts or lies of the enemy. At times, we may not hear clearly what God says when we pour out our hearts unto Him in prayer; it’s what we no longer hear when we know that God has heard us that brings us peace, from glory to glory!
Philippians 4:6-7 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
