What is happening around us right now? Do we enjoy the people and conversations to the fullest by intentionally abiding in the present? Our adversary constantly tempts us to either think about tomorrow’s possible heartaches and pains, or remember those of our past. He does so to steal the joy we can experience in the here and now.
A husband or a wife comes home and while greeted by their mate with a tender embrace, thinks of what happened at work, plans they made for the next day or how much the other angered them the day before. This can also occur in other relationships. Missing priceless moments and letting valuable times of happiness pass by often happens unknowingly. Many interactions with loved ones are not treasured because of a wrong focus.
Giving our full attention to what comes our way takes an intentional purpose of the heart and the enabling of the Spirit of Christ. As we seek the Lord in the now, He helps us enjoy His abundant blessings, moment by moment from glory to glory!
1 John 3:18 “My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.”
