We receive the Promises of the Lord when we ask for them, believe we receive them and walk by faith. We go forth with the expectation to see the manifestation of what we have been promised with every step we take.
The meaning of to ask can be a question in order to obtain information; request something as a favor; search for something that is hidden; inquire in order to learn; or make a demand of something due. This latter meaning is the one we find in many scriptures in the Bible. It means we ask God for what we believe is already ours in Christ. We do not question His will daily. If the Word of God says His will is for our needs to be met, we ask Him for those provisions and we receive them by faith at that very moment. We do not ask Him over and over again if He still wants to or not.
What we desire pertains to the Kingdom, not to this world. As we abide in Christ, we ask what we will, and it is done unto us because what we will is His will. God can do much more than we can ask or think. When we pray, we ask believing that we receive. It is ours in Christ, from glory to glory!
Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”
