Does something we’ve been working on look small? Does it appear as if little is happening? Are we expecting more than what can be seen? He gives us great faith in Him and changes what we see accordingly. What seems small is big when seen through the eyes of faith in a mighty God. We must walk by faith and not by sight.
We see fruitfulness the moment the seed is planted. There is nothing little in God and all that comes from Him is great: a word; a touch; a partial victory in an area. Small manifestations are never to be taken for granted. We praise God from whom all blessings flow. When we do not have enough money for our rent, but we have part of it, we might question how we are going to get the rest until one day… instead of questioning what isn’t… our praise comes forth for what is! A great praise for what He has done comes forth; trusting if He did this much, surely He will take care of us all the way! Think back on all the times He provided for us and made “a way” out of “no way.” The answer to our needs is usually already on the way.
God is faithful. He is awesome, worthy to be praised. It’s not how small something is, but how big He is that we learn to focus on, from glory to glory!
Philippians 4:19 “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
When a sofa is sprayed with Scotch Guard, it’s protected from stains that come from anything spilling on it. When it could stain, the Scotch Guard prevents stains from penetrating and spills can be wiped off easily. So is the presence of Christ in our lives. By faith, we put on Christ and are clothed with the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
The fruit of the Spirit is our Scotch Guard to protect us from spills that are not edifying and exhorting. We often think of the fruit of the Spirit in regards to our walking in the Spirit with others, but the fruit of the Spirit is for us first …and then to flow out to others. The scotch guard on the sofa is for the sofa, not for those who sit on the sofa. We can remain unspotted from hindrances and hold on tight to the anointed covering we have in Christ.
We bear the fruit as we abide in Christ; we do not produce it. His life covers us and flows out unto others. The wrong things that try to spill on us cannot remain; but as we remain in Christ, all that pertains to His life can spill onto others. The anointing is powerful enough to penetrate the hardest soils and break any resistance. What we carry, we bring with us in every place, from glory to glory!
Galatians 5:22-26 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
