Divine Encounters

Divine Encounters

The lame man at the gates was asking for alms from those who entered the temple. Day-by-day he received what he was asking for until one day he was blessed with what God knew he needed most, healing. In one moment his life changed. A divine encounter moved him from a lifelong place of incapacity to a place of total victory. The Lord has moments like this for all of us and touches us unexpectedly in miraculous ways.

The phone rings. It’s someone offering a job; we didn’t know they were aware of our search. We meet someone at a store while we are shopping for food, and they become a dear friend. An attendance at a worship service turns out to be a life changing experience taking us to a place of faith and purpose we didn’t know was possible. A visit to one person for one purpose turns out to be for something entirely different, like meeting our future mate or an opportunity for ministry.

The way Peter told the lame man, “look at us,” and his words carried so much power they brought forth attention and expectation for the extraordinary. He wanted him to look at them, not what they had in their hands. With it came forth the declaration of what could be done because of who Jesus is. When our eyes are upon the Lord instead of what He can do for us, astonishing things happen. The Lord meets us at the point of our need, not our wants. Regardless of how much faith we have, He is able to reach and touch us in miraculous ways, from glory to glory!

Acts 3:5-6 “So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. Then Peter said, ‘Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.’
