We rest in Christ when we cease from our own works and trying to earn what can only be received by grace through faith. As we walk in Him, as we have received salvation, we also receive other blessings. In every situation we have to remember to let go and let God. We stop so God can start.
When we stop trying to convince our loved ones of the truth, God can start speaking to them. When we trust God with our family members and rest in His ability, He is able to step in and intervene. It’s when we finally stop trying to help God that we receive His help. It’s when we get out of His way that He is free to start what He had planned all along. It’s when we stop trying to figure everything out that truth becomes clear. When we are through with our own efforts, His power comes forth mightily.
We believe. We receive. We hear. We obey and we rest. He is the vine; we are the branches. We can hang in there, abide in Him and surrender all. Entering into rest becomes easier and easier as we keep reminding ourselves that it’s all about Him, not about us, from glory to glory!
Hebrews 4:10-11 “For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.”
