Each of us has our own lane. Pressures and distractions come and try to move us out of our place, but God knows how to keep us in His lane! We are never to compete with others.
When we drive on a highway, we may see some who move too fast or too slow. Others may not be paying attention to the road or other vehicles. As long as others stay focused on their own journey, our destination is not affected. The moment they try to move us out of our place, the battle can begin. For example, another car drives very close behind us to try to force us to move. The more we ignore them, the closer they follow. They try to make us react in anger and start a race or competition with another car on the road. The result could be a crash.
In our lives, pressures come to move us out of position. Keeping our peace as we maintain boundaries, can only be achieved by the grace of God. Distractions can appear to be good, but may not be God’s best. A short cut may seem better, but ends up lengthening our journey. Trusting the lane God has us in and having confidence in His leading helps us stay in His lane. We keep our eyes on the Lord and follow His instructions, from glory to glory!
Psalms 37:23 “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way.”
