The more we stand by faith, the more we stand out. To stand out means to project something out of the ordinary, to be distinctive and prominent. It’s when we stand for the things of God with great determination that we stand out the most.
On the sea, to stand out is used to express maintaining a course away from the shore. In Christ, it’s maintaining opposition to the oppression of satan, the world and the flesh. We stand out when we stay away from the temptations that come to take us away from our place of victory. We stand out when others fall under pressure to do something and we do not go along because the Lord is leading us a different way. We stand out when we hold out our position in Christ in spite of everything that tries to influence us.
Our continued transformation in God is noticeable to all. The way we walk in love, peace and joy instead of hate, anger and fear is supernatural. The way we seek after the cloud, the presence of the Lord, instead of the crowd is uncommon. We stand out as a lighthouse for others to know that if God did this in our life, surely He can do it in theirs. It is God’s presence that stands out in our lives, from glory to glory!
1 Corinthians 1:26-29 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence.
