God shut the door on Noah after he entered the ark. Similarly, we are shut in once we are saved; translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. The Holy Spirit enables us to stay shut in, to abide in the Lord and keep out all evil. God Himself has shut us in–in Christ. He closes doors no man can open; and He opens doors no man can shut. Knowing this truth and abiding in it helps us live in safety in the midst of darkness.

It’s when we know we are shut in that we can shut out every evil work from our lives. We also do so when we pray for others in the name of Jesus. We pray for them to be shut in–in the Lord. We use the keys of the Kingdom to bind and loose on earth what already has been bound and loosed in heaven. The anointing of the Holy Spirit opens and closes all things of the Kingdom.

When we have our personal prayer time, we shut the doors. No distractions are to come in to disturb our intimacy with the Lord. It’s in that place that we learn to dwell, rest, receive and hear instructions; we move to obey. We do not let evil works attempt to open the doors that are shut in the Lord. We can keep all evil shut out, and remain shut in, from glory to glory!

Genesis 7:16 “So those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded him; and the LORD shut him in.”
