Have we ever felt like something was a misfit? A misfit is something that does not match who we are or what we do: a relationship, a project, a job, a new item, or any situation we are unable to adjust to. What He led us to yesterday may not apply in our today. As we walk in new seasons, the Lord shows us what needs to change when it no longer fits.
The Lord may show us clothes we should no longer wear; relationships we need to let go of and even books we should no longer read. The challenge regarding relationships when we care and want them to fit, is discovering we must let them go or they will become unsatisfactory and end anyway. He teaches us to stay out of His way and let Him have His way. Sometimes, instead of distancing them from us, He changes them in His own time and in His own way. Other times He reveals what appeared to fit but really doesn’t. Waiting on God in seasons of change will also test us. We could be trying to make something fit when it cannot!
Our place is to rest in the Lord. We are a perfect fit in Him! It’s in trusting in Him that we can release what is to no longer to be, and receive what will be, from glory to glory!
Luke 5:39 “And no one, having drunk old wine, immediately desires new; for he says, ‘The old is better.'”
