A couple needed a miracle for their marriage, but could not accept miracles because they had experienced the “fleshly” misuse of gifts of the Holy Spirit in their past. Because of these inappropriate behaviors in the church, they stopped attending church services or receiving prayer from others and gradually found themselves isolated. It appeared fear had won, but faith reached out to them. The Lord drew, healed and restored them when they were invited, and attended, a church service. Now they pray for others and allow the Holy Spirit to move freely.
How important it is to believe in spirit-led prayer even though we have experienced flesh-led prayer. We can stand in faith for God to heal and move in miraculous ways even if unbelief surrounds us. When negative things happen, we should draw closer to the things of the Lord, not away. We must guard against whatever was sown in the flesh so we are not hindered from receiving what is of the Spirit.
As we pray for the Lord to lead us to what is of Him, we can trust He will keep away what is not of Him and heal us accordingly. Our trust is in Him. When our faith is to receive all that comes from Him, He will bless us in spite of our surroundings and bypass our circumstances. Let us never stop believing and receive all the Lord has for us, from glory to glory!
1 Thessalonians 5:19-21 “Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good.”
